Jouapag is a great listener and was so easy to talk to! I felt like she understood my struggles as a fellow Hmong woman. She asked great questions that helped me reflect on the pains I still hold and created a safe space for me to express them without judgment. We also ended the conversation with actionable steps that I can take to challenge myself.
- Mary Vang
That was my story. On paper, I had it all: prestigious roles at mission-driven organizations, accolades for community impact, and a path that made my parents proud. But behind the "strong leader" facade, I was drowning … and profoundly unhappy in my job.
As the eldest daughter of refugees, I felt like I carried the weight of my parents' sacrifices. Their dreams of a better life rested squarely on my shoulders.
Quitting wasn't an option — not when my younger siblings looked to me as their blueprint for success, not when my immigrant community was being scapegoated, excluded, and discriminated against in mainstream society.
So I did what high-achieving women of color are taught to do: I worked harder.
Journaled religiously. Read every self-help book. Even went to therapy.
But nothing shifted until I found a coach who truly saw the whole me — not just as a professional, but as a woman of color navigating the complex intersections of culture, family, and ambition.
He helped me recognize how my drive for excellence was tangled with intergenerational patterns. How my "strong woman of color" identity had become both armor and prison. How my ancestors' resilience could fuel my healing instead of my hustle.
You're the ambitious daughter chasing achievements to validate your immigrant parents' sacrifices, even as burnout sets in
You're the "strong one" who manages everything for everyone (maybe… translating documents, navigating systems, parenting siblings) without much support for you
Your inner critic echoes familiar voices: "Work harder than everyone." "What will people think?" "Your siblings are watching." "Your parents sacrificed everything..."
You've tried therapy and self-help, but nothing speaks to the unique pressures of being a woman of color leader straddling two worlds
On paper, you're thriving in your mission-driven role, but you wonder if there's a way to lead that doesn't require leaving parts of yourself behind
I’ve helped many other women of color leaders transform their relationships with work, family, and self. And move from self-sacrifice to radical self-acceptance. I’d love to meet you.

Energy is like your mood or inner self. Your energy changes the way you see the world. For example, when you are happy and rested, you are able to think creatively and positively. When you are stressed, you might react more negatively and feel more discouraged.
Energy leadership coaching is paying attention to your energy and how it influences the way you think, feel, and behave. Additionally, as a leader, it's important to notice how your energy shifts and influences how others think, feel, and behave.
While therapy helps you understand and heal your past, coaching focuses on taking action toward your future. My coaching specifically revolves around your professional life and deepening your ability to lead and make an impact without burning out.
As your coach, I help you create clear strategies for growth and hold you accountable to your goals. Many of my clients have found therapy valuable for healing and are now ready for coaching to help them move forward with purpose.
My signature coaching package is $2,400 for 9 sessions over 3 months. Payment plans are available. While this is an investment, my clients find the clarity, confidence, and strategies they gain are invaluable for their long-term career growth and well-being.
Many organizations also offer professional development funds that can cover coaching — I'm happy to help you explore this option!
We meet for 60 minutes every other week, with optional activities between sessions that you can scale based on your capacity. My role is to help you create more space in your life, not add to your overwhelm. We'll work together to find a rhythm that supports your growth while honoring your current commitments.
I bring a unique blend of professional coaching certification, lived experience as a woman of color leader, and an understanding of cultural dynamics. I create a truly unique space where you can explore both career strategy and cultural identity, practical action and spiritual growth. My approach integrates modern leadership practices with cultural wisdom, so you can lead authentically without leaving parts of yourself behind.
