As the oldest daughter of Hmong refugees, I grew up bridging worlds — translating for my family, advocating in institutions, and carrying the weight of cultural expectations.
After experiencing racial harassment in college, I channeled that pain into purpose, establishing my career leading multicultural coalitions to create change. But by the time I was working in nonprofits and philanthropy, the toll of being everyone's "strong one" began seeping through the cracks.
Everything shifted when I worked with a queer Hmong holistic coach who helped me explore my struggles through a new lens, one that honored both my cultural identity and my need for healing. For the first time, someone helped me understand how historical trauma plays out in our bodies, families, and communities. This holistic approach transformed not just my own healing journey but also sparked a new vision for collective healing in my community.
The deepest confirmation of this path came in 2021, when I lost both my mother and grandmother while pregnant with my second child. Those profound losses, coupled with my ongoing exploration of intergenerational trauma, birthed The Healing Timelines Project. I was inspired by the idea that even if my mom isn't here in this timeline, perhaps there's another where we're both doing our healing work together.
Now, I'm committed to creating transformative spaces where women of color can move from self-sacrifice to radical self-acceptance.
Whether through coaching, facilitation, or community building, my mission is to support individuals and organizations in creating lasting change that honors both our roots and our vision for the future.
